Since 1973, Shoof has steadily expanded its commercial presence both domestically and internationally. We have continuously developed innovative products, invested in infrastructure, and strengthened our team and operational capabilities to support ongoing growth and meet the evolving needs of our customers—continually helping to make caring for animals easier.

The Trickler

First Innovation

Shoof developed its first major products: the Shoof Trickler and RevWash, an udder washing system.

Shoof first Fieldays 1973

1975

Initial Presence

Established a presence at New Zealand’s premier farming show, Fieldays, to formally launch the Shoof Trickler and RevWash to the market.

Shoof enters export market

1979

Entering the Export Market

Shoof took its first steps internationally with the launch of the Quarter Milker and Sight Glass, introducing its innovations to global markets.

Further innovation

Shoof introduced the internationally renowned ‘Shoe for a Hoof’ (the ‘Shoof’), further cementing its reputation for pioneering animal care solutions.

Shoof manufacturing in Asia

1989

Offshoring Manufacturing

Shoof expanded its manufacturing operations by offshoring production to Asia, enhancing operational efficiency and global reach. This period also marked the beginning of sourcing additional products globally, broadening Shoof’s product portfolio and capabilities.

Shoof Vet first catalogue

1994

Acquisition

Shoof acquired Lester Veterinary Products Ltd, further expanding and enhancing the Shoof vet supplies catalogue.

Shoof Speedy Feeder

1995

Further innovation

Shoof developed the Speedy Feeder, a multi-speed feeding bottle designed to improve feeding efficiency for calves.

Shoof enters Australian market

1998

Entering the Australian Market

Shoof expanded into the Australian market by establishing the Shoof Melbourne office, offering a wide range of farming and animal.

2000s

Shoof acquires AgStar Australia

2002/03

Acquisition

Shoof expanded its presence in Australia by acquiring competitors, including Agstar in Victoria and Hayes Veterinary Services in Queensland.

Shoof implements SAP

2004

Investment in Technology

Shoof implemented the SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to streamline and manage domestic and international business operations more effectively.

Shoof launches Walkease

2008

Further innovation

Shoof launched the Speedy Drencher and Walkease, further cementing its reputation for innovation. Both products are now sold globally, supporting animal care with practical and effective solutions.

Shoof moved into a purpose-built, architecturally designed head office and warehouse located in Cambridge, New Zealand, to support continued growth and operational needs.

Entering the Chilean Market

Shoof expanded its global footprint by establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary based in Osorno, Chile, to better serve the Southern Hemisphere market.

Tailwell power tail trimmer

Shoof developed and launched the Tailwell 2, a power tail trimmer attachment introduced to the American and European markets, continuing its legacy of innovative animal care solutions.

Shoof acquired Sweetmat, establishing an on-site sewing production facility dedicated to Hoofmats and Disinfection Mats.
